Let Your Garter Down

Yesterday, I was at Ulta, and I saw a mini set of Ulta polishes for $9.99. I couldn't help myself (especially since I was there to exchange a $10 polish!) so I picked it up. It is called Lust in Lace. And let me tell you that I am happy with my purchase!

My daughter asked me to use the blue polish today, so that is just what I did.

Ok, here is what I did:
1 coat Sally Hansen's Double Duty base coat
1 coat Orly's base coat
2 coats Ulta Let Your Garter Down
1 coat Seche Vite

Let Your Garter Down is a black based polish with blue glass flecks. I personally think it is gorgeous. I love wearing black/dark polishes, and having that extra color flash makes me oh so happy!

I do have a pros/cons list to share with you.

Pros:
  • Beautiful color! I don't have anything like it.
  • The clean up was unbelievably easy. Usually with darker colors it is a nightmare...but this polish cleaned up so fast and soooo easy! Love that!
  • The blue is subtle...which I love. I hesitate on blue polishes...I don't know why.
  • It was opaque in two coats! Usually with black based polishes like this, I have to do a coat of my Pure Ice Black Rage. But not with this polish! This baby is all by herself!
Cons:
  • Drying time was a pain. I mean, it wasn't HORRIBLE...but I felt like it was tacky longer than any other polish.
  • Let me just tell you how much I HATE square polish tops. I HATE HATE HATE them! (Right now my Seyhan would be saying "OHHHH MOOOOM!!! YOU SAID A BAD WOOOORD! We don't say hate in our house....so I'm sure you can see how much I dislike square polish tops. lol.)
  • Because the polish bottle is small, I felt like the brush was shorter than a normal small bottle. I don't know. It just felt like it was weird in my hand.

As you can tell, there aren't as many cons...which makes me happy. I'm really excited to swatch and share the other 3 colors with you!!

 This is in the sun.

The clean up, as stated above, was so incredibly easy, that I went a little overboard on my index finger. Lol. And don't get me started on my clean up brush. Let's just say that my children like to smash my paint brushes into every hard surface possible....

What do you guys think about this polish? Would you wear it? I think it would be a cool black to start with when doing a galaxy manicure! Ohh! I just might have to try that! <3

Until next time....

Christina

Disclosure *I was not paid for this review. I was not given the polish for this review. I paid for the polish with my own money. This is purely my own opinion, thoughts, and suggestions about this polish.*
